Future Past Imaginaries is an exhibition inspired by the premises of Russian Cosmism and its potential to reflect on contemporary and future conditions. The exhibition includes works by Alice dos Reis, Ece Canlı and Mariana Vilanova, and is presented in three moments.
Curated by Alexandra Balona and Miguel Amado.
In the third moment, Mariana Vilanova proposes Before and After Us, an exhibition that invites the observer to an immersive approach to less common perspectives of reality. The artist combines sound fragments and images resulting from laboratory observation of samples from a natural place in the house where she grew up, creating a space that is both meditative and disquieting. The fusion of scales and temporalities questions our relationship with the visible and invisible world, evoking both strangeness and belonging.
