In the first moment, Alice dos Reis displays an installation that articulates technologies of contraception and reproductive health with logics of extraterrestrial extraction. Based on the designs of the intrauterine device developed over the XX and XXI centuries, the artist creates icons and abstracts symbols. Displayed in an installation with holographic fans, it creates a mechanical space that evokes past and intergalactic temporalities, unearthing the arbitrariness and violence of such biopolitics.
