The exhibition “A mão que segura e a que se eleva no ar” stems from the artistic practice of Ana Hatherly, as well as the concepts of text-image, poetry, art and word, as forms of resistence and freedom.
Organized by Pessoa Colectiva (Mafalda Santos & Susana Gaudêncio), the project gathers the individual voices of three artists, united by the hand of visionary artist Ana Hatherly. Susana, Mafalda e Isabel, under the sign of Ana, steady hands, hands that hold and secure lines, revolutions of image and text. This lineage weaved effortlessly materializes in a cellebration, rather than in an homage.
The exhibition pesents a diversity of media, exploring first and foremost the possibilities of drawing and writing, but also venturing into animation, sculpture and publishing. The artist Xana will premier a performance during the exhibition opening, versing on the topics at stake.
