Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, 1992. Lives and works in Porto.
Madaleno studied at the Department of Fine Arts, University of Porto, where he was awarded a Masters degree in Painting (2016) with the project Clepsydra– Image, documentand action.
In 2019, he received the artistic grant Criatório, awarded by the PortoCity Council, for the research and production of the project A garden atnight. In 2017, he was awarded the Novo Banco Emerging Artist Prize 2017,and was distinguished with the Viana de Lima/Esposende City Council Prizefor academic merit.
Madaleno has exhibited his artwork since 2013, in the solo shows Honeymoon (2019) at Appleton Square, Lisbon and at Espaço Pontes, Fundão; Clepsydra (2017-2018), at Serralves Contemporary Museum, Porto; From Mouth to Sprout (2016) at Lugar do Desenho, Júlio Resende’s Foundation, Gondomar. He has beenpart of numerous group exhibitions as TRABALHO CAPITAL # ENSAIO SOBRE GESTOSE FRAGMENTOS (2019-2020), curated by Paulo Mendes, at Centro de Arte Oliva,São João da Madeira; Victory over the sun (2018) at Colégio das Artes,Coimbra, and Wrong Way Up (2018), part of the artistic residency NoEntulho #01, at Artworks, Póvoa do Varzim, among others.
In 2019, he began Volta a Portugal em Coreto (Portugal Tour in a Gazebo), a street performance project in which a monument visits several regions inPortugal to invite amateur singers to perform. This project is sponsored byArtworks and Appleton Cultural Association.
Between 2015 and 2016, Madaleno was part of the curatorial team of GaleriaPainel (with Catarina Real, José Costa and Luís Ramos), a partnership between FBAUP and ISPUP.
