Thaís Freire de Andrade (Cidade da Praia, 1998) is an architect who graduated from FAUP in 2022 and has lived in Porto since 2016. Her Master's dissertation sought to reflect on self-construction in the City of Praia, with the main objective of giving a voice to the inhabitants and builders, at a theoretical, analytical and prospective level. In 2021, she did an internship at the City Council of Praia, in the PRACIMP project (Programa de Regularização de Assentamentos e Construções Irregulares no Município da Praia), which consisted of inspecting and authenticating houses with illegal origins. During this period, she also volunteered in needy neighborhoods in the Cape Verdean capital. She is currently a trainee architect at Paulo Moreira Architectures.
