Maria Trabulo

Porto, Portugal, 1989. Lives and works in Porto and Vienna.

Maria Trabulo is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher. She was the cofounder of the artist-run spaces  Spite of and Expedição.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Department of Fine Arts of the University od Porto and the Iceland Academy of Arts. She was recently granted a Masters degree in Art&Science from the Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien with the support of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.


Maria Trabulo exhibits regularly since 2011. Selected solo exhibitions: Desertado. Algo Que Aconteceu Pode Acontecer Novamente. (Galeria Municipal do Porto, Porto, Portugal, 2019), A Reinvenção do Esquecimento (Novo Banco Revelação Award, Serralves Museum, Porto, Portugal, 2018), Almost Blue (Neue Galerie, Innsbruck, Vienna, Austria, 2017), Memory of Stone (A Ilha, Lisbon, Portugal, 2016).

Her work is presented in many national and international private collections, as well as public collections, such as: EDP Foundation, Cerveira Biennial Foundation, University of Porto, Elvas Contemporary Art Museum and Porto Municipality.
