Born in Senegal, 1974. Lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal

Mamadou Ba is the founder of multiple organizations that aim at defending the human rights of migrants and people of color, both in Portugal and in the European Union.

Ba was member of the Permanent Council at the National Committee for Equality and Against Racial discrimination (2015-2019). He was a member of the Joint Task cor the 2021 Census,  the Permanent Forum of the International Decade for Afrodescendents and of Movement SOS Racism.

He is now a member of the National Task Force for Prevention and Fight against Racial Discrimination and of the Steering Committee of the Equinox Initiative for Racial Justice.

Ba is the co-author of public documents about racism and human rights. He penned a number of newspaper and magazine articles, books. He was speaker at numerous conferences versing topics related to immigration, diversity, and the fight against racism. Ba is one of the most prominent voices of the anti-racist movement in Portugal, having denouced the proliferation of hate-speech in social media, as in the public and political spaces.
