Máira Zenun is a producer and scholar. Black Cinema is the focus of her work.

Maíra completed her a PhD in Sociology at the Universidade Federal de Goiás, Brazil. Her disertation is titled "The City and the (Black) Cinema: the FESPACO Case". She completed a master's degree in Sociology at the Universdade de Brasilia, with a dissertation about the industrialization of Brazilian cinema. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. She participated in TRANSE / UnB as a researcher and visual artist. Since 2014 she is collaborating with FICINE - Black Cinema Itinerant Forum. In 2015, she founded the collective Nêga Filmes, in partnership with Luzia Gomes , where she developed transdisciplinary works with poetry + performance + cinema + human sciences + photography. Since 2016, she has coordinated and curated the International Film Festival in Cova - Africa and its Diasporas.
