Ludgero Almeida's work is based in archives, photographic documentation, historic accounts and affective memories. It aims to think, criticize, brush up and to challenge us to see the contemporary world through a different lens, generating layers of perception and bringing a sharp focus to the relation between reality and fiction.

Almeida has exhibited in portugal Spain and Brasil since 2012, in venues such as Universidade de Goiás and Instituto De Artes da UNESP, São Paulo; both in Brasil, Silo Espaço Cultural, Porto, e Centro Para os Assuntos de Arte e Arquitetura in Guimarães. His work is represented in a variety of public and private collections. 

Ludgero Almeida is a PhD candidate at the University of Porto, Department of Fine Arts. His academic work is sponsored by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia.
