Diego Inglez de Souza

Diego Inglez de Souza (São Paulo, 1978) is an architect and urban planner who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (2004), holds a master's degree (FAU USP, 2009) and a doctorate from the same institution, in co-tutelage with the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne (2014). He was a teaching assistant at FAU USP (2006/07 and 2013) in various subjects of Design and History of Architecture and Urbanism and Assistant Professor in the Architecture and Urbanism course at the Catholic University of Pernambuco (UNICAP) between 2015 and 2019.

He has developed research that has been integrated into exhibitions such as the 10th São Paulo Architecture Biennial (2013), La Machine du monde (Centre Régional de la Photographie Hauts-de-France, 2019), O mar é a nossa terra (Garagem Sul/ Centro Cultural de Belém, 2020) and was the scientific coordinator of the International Seminar Unsustainable Architecture France/Latin America. He has collaborated with collectives of artists and architects in workshops and artistic residencies such as BijaRi (São Paulo), Atelier Vivo (Recife), Encommun (Lausanne) and Ensaios e Diálogos Associação (Almada). Environment no Laboratório de Paisagem, Património e Território (Lab2PT) da Universidade do Minho (2019- 2021). Entre 2022 e 2023, trabalhou ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa l no projeto ReARQ.IB: Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939-1985). Desde 2023, é investigador auxiliar no Centro de Estudos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto.Seu livro Arquitetura do bacalhau e outras espécies: Uma leitura crítica das paisagens construídas pelas pescas portuguesas, escrito com André Tavares (Dafne Editora, Porto, 2022), foi distinguido com o Prémio FAD Pensamento e Crítica 2023.
